Throwback: When Cops Raided Cannabis Dispensaries In Santa Ana

In May 2015, Santa Ana’s cops raided medical marijuana dispensary Sky High Holistics. The cops were caught on camera playing darts, consuming edible products, and abusing a disabled woman. OC Weekly, which covered the matter back then, found that the raid did not result in any major repercussions for those police officers. Raids from local police kept happening right through Orange County (OC) and the cities around it, despite the efforts of many cannabis industry players to work within their local jurisdictional laws.

In 2018, a US task force had raided two marijuana dispensaries on North Tustin Avenue in Anaheim city. The Municipal Code in Anaheim issued six citations for the cannabis dispensaries concerned. Agents in that task force successfully seized about 540 pounds of edible cannabis derivatives, around 170 pounds of another cannabis product, and $9,800 in currency form. The officials who were part of the law enforcement operation also red-tagged the dispensary buildings.
