Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Zapp, Ice Cube, Tha Dogg Pound, and Lisa Lisa, are set to headline OC Block Party on Saturday, to be held at Santa Ana Civic Center. If you happen to scroll down a ways towards the bill’s bottom though, you’ll notice Doughboy Tony is performing as well.
The placement makes sense when one takes into account the Q value of the formerly mentioned musicians with that of a young Santa Ana up-and-comer.
“My son just started making music last year in July,” Milton C. Ortiz recalled in an interview.
It needs to be remembered that one of Doughboy Tony’s initial shows came out just a few months back in Santa Ana with South Central Cartel and EastSidaz. This was followed by another one a couple weeks back at La Santa, where he opened for DJ Quick.
Small wonder then that on the local rapper’s socials, he reacted in his own way after seeing his name on OC Block Party’s poster, next to “all those great artists.”
“I am still trying to process it.”
One might say that he’s trying to live it up.
